## China's behaviour in the world is like a trauma victim? https://medium.com/@MosesHng/chinas-behaviour-in-the-world-is-like-a-trauma-victim-24d2c9836cfb This morning I read this article [British police probe beating of protester on China consulate grounds]( https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/police-investigate-beating-protester-china-consulate-grounds-uk-2022-10-17/ ) I wonder how come China is so insecure and reactive. China is like a guy trying to look tough and confident but insecure. He is reactive and has a short temper. If China is a person, I would say he is like a trauma victim (historical events). Trauma triggers shame for allowing the past to happen to them, and they blame themselves. They may be very critical of themselves. Trauma victims have difficulty trusting or cannot connect with people (other countries). Once traumatised, victims become wary and project on everything. They see threats everywhere and do not want the past to repeat itself. So, in a way, they are living in the past. They are disconnected from life, the present. To win hearts and minds, China should resolve its issues internally. Maybe you should seek closure and be kinder to yourself. (Not replaying the trauma in your mind and stirring up anger and hatred, it's not healthy for you). Be calm and grounded. Let your work shows for itself. The more you speak and act tough, the more discredited you look. There is no need to "correct" everyone or be defensive. If you are truly secure and powerful, people will know that. The rest of the world's countries also have their issues. So focus on your home issues (Have you made your citizens' lives better?) and stop being a busybody about what your neighbours are doing. Actions invite reactions; that's how the system works. Politicians are to be blamed for the world's problems. No one wants violence and war. Can't we live and let live? Isn't it much better if we all have peace and work together? It always seems like a few men on the top instigate the world problem, and they do not incur any personal cost, while million suffers. It's never black and white; there is no one "bad guy". So we are very backwards if we continue to think in terms of "us vs them" and "we are good guys vs they are bad guys". We should understand that there will be reactions when there is an action. A naive person --- [[24012022 Systemic Group Supervision]] [[🏠 Trauma]]
