# 20220310 Solution Focused Group Supervision #lorynn #hakim #yiping Date: 10 March 2022 9-11am ZOOM [[020.300 Solution Focused MOC]] #supervision #solution-focus # My takeaway 1. A place to uncover the past, and also shift to the preferred future. 2. Forming the preferred future statement - is it the negative, but the "what i want instead.." --- - ==In Solution Focused, Problems are obstacles to their goals== - That's a difference between [[Systemic Thinking]] view, that problems are symptoms of relational issues. - We need to know where the patient want to go, their goals/idea future - What is the emotion/state you like to have instead? Don't assume, to [[202102222010 Describe, do not explain. Be curious]] - Behavioural description - Until we know what is the concrete ideal future there, we don't know how to go there. - ?What about why client paint that future? Don't we question and doubt their intention and motivation why they said why they said? [[020.100 Psychodynamic Psychotherapy MOC]] - ==SF trust clients are experts of their life==. Worse point, good point, what did they do to cope and get better? What learning you got? What resources you have in your life? How they overcame past struggles... I.e they want to go point B... - ?Is that distraction?? Keep coming up with goals, to distract themselves - What if preferred future is influenced by the childhood, past? - YP said we also need to use professional judgement (then we are not really trusting client's being experts of life what!) when we doubt, "clarifying" - Uses confident scales, scaling, to ask patient, whether they are convinced. (Or are we convinced) - When asking questions, we are asking reflexive questions for them to question themselves. [[Interventive Interviewing]] [[C202003141155 Questions can be interventive]] What if patient change their goals? From point b, then change again. I don't want to just go merry go round, wasting time and energy. (Some patient keep changing their mind) - YP: It's about growth and learning. Spending sometime, at each point, that can be bring to the next stage. (Share with me what shows you that you have achieved your goals?) - ==My assumption is that : We have to figure it out in our life, to be sure once and for all.. that's it.== - YP: It's only natural that goals changes. Constant in life is change. But before we embark on the new change, explore what caused the change, what lesson learnt. If not people haphazardly change. - SF uses lots of anecdotal stories to proof a point. The task given for outside sessions, will be guided by the in session conversations. - Could be observation, monitoring, noticing, doing. - Experimenting: Why work? Why has it work? - ==Goal must be framed : suppose you have successful reduce frequency of self-harm, what would have more of. (positively framing) What does she want to do instead of cutting herself== - E.g Going out for walk. What can help you achieve this, going for walk - What might be a challenge for you? - What are some ideas you have? Heading for the door instead. - What have you tried before? exceptions - What did you do? moment by moment. Describe what she did, instead of getting the knife.. in minute details. #Visualisation - [[Sports psychology]] - [[Visualisation]] ---
