# An Introduction
I graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Psychology and worked as a Student & Alumni Affairs executive providing para-counselling to undergraduates for two years. Then, I joined the Early Psychosis Intervention Programme at the Institute of Mental Health Singapore in 2010 and served as a Case Manager for 12 years. During this time, I worked with hundreds of patients and caregivers who were diagnosed with the first episodes of Psychosis.
After two years of the COVID pandemic, I realized that I had become burnt out from clinical work and needed a break, so I decided to take a sabbatical. Currently, I am serving as a senior research officer on a project in the hospital that focuses on designing digital intervention solutions to support patients' recovery and assist clinicians in their work.
Aside from my work in the hospital, I am also working on a personal side project where I aim to share what I have learned from my case management work with others in the field. I hope that my writing will help younger colleagues in their own work, and I am happy to share my experiences and the training that I have received.
I do not assume that I have reached a "master" level in my work, as there is always more to learn. I am still learning every day from my job, from seniors before me, and from patients and their families. I received a Graduate Diploma in Counselling Practice and learned many valuable lessons from my teachers. Please take what you find useful from my writing and know that it is based solely on my experience and training.
